Stones sign local Maidstone lad Pigott on loan until the end of the season

Jay Saunders has announced the signing of Cambridge United striker and local Maidstone lad Joe Pigott on loan until the end of the season.

Pigott began his career with Charlton Athletic and made his professional debut on 6th August 2013 in a 4–0 victory over Oxford United in the League Cup, scoring Charlton’s fourth goal from the penalty spot.

Joe will provide experience and additional firepower to the Maidstone front line. The Stones with Yemi Odubade still unavailable through injury and Delano Sam Yorke shortly finishing his loan spell the forward line needed strengthening.

A shrewd bit of business by Jay Saunders in my view and I am sure the football League striker will be a big hit at the club.

A home debut next weekend at the Gallagher surely beckons.
