On the 9th May Jay Saunders and Maidstone United announced the signing of Delano Sam-Yorke.
The ex-Woking striker had a successful loan spell at the club and was part of the team that turned the Stones season around.
Delano Sam-Yorke offers height, pace, strength, and power and with the club moving to day time training is a clear signal of intent by Jay Saunders for next season.
Delano Sam-Yorke has already blended well with the squad during his loan spell and will be aware of the setup and ambitions for next season.
It true testament that players like Delano Sam-Yorke want to join Maidstone United and are excited by the club’s ambitions.
The new Stones striker grabbed three goals in eight matches when on loan and with a full season under his belt I can see the striker hitting double figures.
The signing adds additional fire power to the Stones squad which will be needed for the long National League season.
Goals were hard to come by until the later part the season and the Stones will need a better start if they are to better the fourteenth place finish of this season.
I personally feel the signing is a positive signal of intent by club and manager to build a side that can achieve this.
Already I am looking forward to next season and with further announcements to come over the pre-season I can only see more positive and ambitious signings to come.
Come on you Stones!!!
